(OP)
what does virtual pre arcing time mean on the y axis of a tcc for a fuse.  I'm use to seeing time in seconds and a melting and clearing time curves...Instead I have a single line curve...is this the melting time, clearing time or average melting time?

RE: virtual pre-arcing time

Try "The Data sheet of the High Speed Fuse" from the Bussmann website.

http://www.bussmann.co.uk/High Speed Applications Guide/The data sheet of High Speed Fuse.pdf

RE: virtual pre-arcing time

I googled, got the pdf, then read the link to it. The link is not correctly highlighted above but if you copy and paste it into note pad to remove the line breaks, then copy and paste it into explorer, it does work.

Sorry for the hassle.
