What eats creosote?

What eats creosote?

(OP)
Hi. Im looking for a solution to clean creosote of ceramic tiles. Cant use abrasives or scrape it. I am able to soak them for days if required.

Will caustic soda work?

RE: What eats creosote?

Gasoline dissolves it.

I would also try diesel. Make sure you keep it of the skin and make sure you wear goggles. If you have any quantity be sure and check with the local authority about the disposal as some take a dim view of creosote in any shape or form.
