Cosmosfloworks Memory Issues

Cosmosfloworks Memory Issues

Cosmosfloworks Memory Issues

(OP)
I tried to run Internal fluid flow on my laptop(Intel Pentium M 1.80GHz, 1.25GB Memory, Microsoft XP operating system)

Below are the mesh setting
Disabled Automatic setting
Disabled Narrow Channels,
Small solid refinement-Level 3
Curvature refinement -Level 3
Tolerance refinement -Level 0
Refine Fluid cells -Level 2

And I keep gettting these message:
"Mesh generation abnormally terminated"
"Solidworks is unable to obtain required memory"
"failed to allocate requested continuous memory block due to memory fragmentation"

The model is just a 5" OD impeller and 6" OD diffuser(volute).

I also tried local mesh option to minimize the memory usage, but I still got the one of the above message either during the meshing process or IF I am lukcy, I got the above message right before the interation starts.

If anyone out there knows how to solve this probelm, please provide some guideline.

Thanks

RE: Cosmosfloworks Memory Issues

1) Try to keep your total cell count below 400,000.
2) Defrag your hard drive.
3) Reboot your computer.
4) Might need more RAM, I have 4 G's but I am not sure if XP can use it all.
