Does anyone know any US plants that have adopted Zones for hazardour location approvals?
For hazardous areas in Europe and RoW, plants are usually classified into Zones (0/1/2) to IEC standards, whereas in the US, plants are classified into Div1/Div2 to NEC500.
The latest update to the NEC adds NEC505 which allows the use of Zones, but it seems to be mutually exclusive - the whole plant is either Zones or Divisions.
