Inrush current calculation for Capacitor bank

(OP)

Does anyone have a formula in calculating the inrush current for Capacitor Bank.

The scenario is: there are two Capacitor Banks connected in parrallel, in each bank there is a series damping reactor connected.

Thanks.

RE: Inrush current calculation for Capacitor bank

Yes, the following two sources will give you simple formulas you can use to calculate the inductance and current you will see based on a selected inrush current:

Rural Utilities Service
RUS BULLETIN 1724E-300

(2)IEEE Std C37.012™-2005 IEEE Application Guide for
Capacitance Current Switching for
AC High-Voltage Circuit Breakers
