Drag Strut/Collector Design in high wind regions

(OP)
I work in the engineering department of a modular home company.  I have to deal with building homes in a lot of high wind regions along the east coast. Everytime we do I can either use the code book (2003 IRC) or the WFCM.  If that does not work we have to send it to a P.E. to get calcutlated. I noticed he uses drag struts and collectors. I know what they are I know how they work, but I would like to know how to calculate collectors, and how all the calcs for shear work?  If anyone has some advice or maybe some where I can find info that would be great.

RE: Drag Strut/Collector Design in high wind regions

Try the textbook 'Design of Wood Structures' by Donald Breyer.
