Speeding up Regen time

Speeding up Regen time

(OP)
Some of our larger jobs are really killing us on regen times. Most of our comp's are up to date with the exception of video cards, which are probably 3 years old.

My question is, would uploading more current video DRIVERS help our situation, or would it be beneficial to upgrade the CARDS themselves?

We are running ACAD 2003 with the latest upgrades in memory (1 gig ram), just older cards as far as I know. We use all x-refs in our sheet drawings and multiple layout tabs.

RE: Speeding up Regen time

Instead of RegenAll invoke only Regen. Subtle differences can be read in the Help pull down menu.

RE: Speeding up Regen time

Video cards make more of a difference for speed in AutoCAD, even more than CPU (our experience). RAM helps but more so for computational things. Chicopee has a good tip and you might check the LAYOUTREGENCTL variable also. Good luck.
