Material properties as function of RD

Material properties as function of RD

(OP)
Hi all,

I need to express Youngs modulus and poisson's ratio as a function of Relative Density in ABAQUS Standard.  Any ideas or insights on how to do this?

Thanks,
Chris

RE: Material properties as function of RD

How does the density vary in the model? If it varies with temperature or spatially then express E in the same relative manner.

can you offer any suggestion on how this would be done?  Density in this case is varying spatially.

Thanks,
chris

You'd have to use a subroutine, UMAT, I believe. The co-ordinates should be available to use as a variable there.
