Updating Sheet Format

Updating Sheet Format

Updating Sheet Format

(OP)
When I change my Sheet Format template and update it in the drawing, all of the changes I made to Annotation Fonts do not change.  Does updating Sheet Format not do this or am I doing something incorrectly?

Thanks

RE: Updating Sheet Format

If you are modifying the sheet format which is already being used in the drawing, you will need to change it to something different first, then change back to the modified version.

RE: Updating Sheet Format

Also, are you talking about document default annotation fonts or the fonts of specific notes/other annotations in the sheet format?  If specific notes then CBL's post applies, and please ignore the following paragraph.

Otherwise, the sheet format and drawing template are different.  All the "Document Properties" from the Tools->Options dialog box are in the template (.slddrt file) rather than the sheet format.  The template file is essentially a blank drawing file.  You can't change the template file after creating the drawing.  The sheet format contains size, title block, etc, and you can change the sheet format at any time.  However, changing the sheet format will not change the fonts on any annotations that are "use document default".

RE: Updating Sheet Format

If you have to do this often or to a lot of sheets, it will pay to get software like Propa-Gator from www.CustomSolids.com

The free version is limited to changing 4 files per session.

Thanks.  Those inputs help a lot with understanding the differences.  I understood they were different, but just not the specifics of in which ways.

It is the Options I want to affect, i.e. Annotations Font.  So I guess Dwg Template which I guess means more involved.  I will look into that software but one thing that seems to work is to just start a new dwg (with the new template) and copy everything into it from the dwg mad from old template.  Not sure if any implications that I dont know of yet, but seems to work ... just kinda tedious and clunky.

Thanks you two, appreciate the help.
Mike
