7075-T7351 Fatigue Strength?
7075-T7351 Fatigue Strength?
(OP)
Good afternoon all,
I'm having some trouble finding fatigue curves for 7075-T7351 aluminum. Mil-5 has fatigue curves for the T6 tempers, but nothing for T7351. Does anyone have these curves or know where I can find them? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Also, I know that shot peening a part can improve the fatigue strength. We have some experience shot peening steel parts for fatigue strength, but we've never tried it with aluminum. If anyone has had any experience shot peening aluminum parts, could you please tell me what media has been used and in what almen range should if be blast to? Thanks.

There are a number of resources that are freely available regarding shot peening in general, and specifically on shot peening of aluminum. Metal Improvement has an excellent guide called Shot Peening Applications, 8th Edition that discusses all aspects of shot peening, and includes some aluminum applications. You can register and download this guide by using the following link:

The International Conference on Shot Peening is a regular conference that has been held since 1981, and frequently has papers on aluminum and aerospace applications. Papers from ICSP-1 to ICSP-7 are freely available from the organizer’s website:

And lastly, the library area of shotpeener.com has a huge collection of papers, including links to the ICSP papers. Use the following link for more information:
