Show or cut a projected curve

Show or cut a projected curve

Show or cut a projected curve

(OP)
I am trying to show a projected curve on a drawing or cut a projected curve on the model, which will of course show on the drawing. I have a model for a rotational mold and I am trying to show areas for sand blasting. I made a sketch and projected it onto surfaces (more than one surface). I could either show the projected curve on the drawing or make a shallow cut into the model, which will show on the drawing. I had first tried to make a shallow cut from a surface to show the areas, but the sketch covers more than than one surface. Any suggestions?

RE: Show or cut a projected curve

Can you generate a split line to give you what you want?

Insert, Curve, Split Line.....

RE: Show or cut a projected curve

... or, just leave it as a sketch and show it in the drawing view.

... or, create a zero thickness surface using the projected sketch entities.

cheers

The split line worked well. For some reason the view-show sketches will does not show sketches in the drawing views (Everything shows fine in the model). Also, the drawing will not show planes, but will show axes and temporary axes.

RE: Show or cut a projected curve

In the drawing, expand the view in the tree, then the model...find the sketch you want, right-click and show.
