honeycomb analysis

I am working to design a structure with composite panels, but I am having a difficult time trying to find properties for composite honeycomb panels.  Does anyone know where I can find this stuff?

RE: honeycomb analysis

Check Hexcel corporation   www.hexcel.com/
We've used their paper honeycomb in the past.

RE: honeycomb analysis

What kind of honeycomb properties?  If you desire core shear and compressive properties, the Hexcel's TSB 120 has all the data.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for.  I am trying to assign properties to the core material in Cosmos, and now I actually have some real numbers to use.

For an orthotropic material Cosmos has xyz inputs for the modulus of elasticity and it also has the shear modulus inputs.  The data sheets from hexcel have three modulus (xyz) should I ignore the shear modulus?  I am trying to find the stiffness of a multi layer composite panel.

RE: honeycomb analysis

mechpins:  See the three posts by SWComposites (and the one post by fkmeyers) in thread825-118706. See also nastran sandwich modeling. Then come back with any remaining questions. Good luck.
