Missing bitmap in drawing

Missing bitmap in drawing

Missing bitmap in drawing

(OP)
Hello all,
I come again in search of answers. I have run this by my VAR and they are stumped so I am hoping someone here can help.

One of our users inserts a bmp into his drawing and all he gets is an outline box or an icon instead of the actual image.
When we insert the object we make sure that the link and show as icon boxes are unchecked. I have tried this on 7 machines and on 6 it works fine. So I tend to believe that is has something to do with his machine, settings, permissions or something else. Does anyone have ideas, suggestions or recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Missing bitmap in drawing

This has been an issue for a while. I have heard that you need to need to associate the type of file you want to insert with solidworks in windows. I still get icons sometimes after doing this.

The way I do this is insert-> object -> Create New -> Object Type: Bitmap Image ->

a MS paint type window will appear. then go to

Edit -> Paste From ->

and select your image.

rfus,
Thanks for the help. That did the trick. It is a work around, but at least it works.

I am surprised to read that you said it has been an issue for a while. I have never had any problems until now.
Anyway thanks again and a star for you.
