Recommend decent B size printer

Recommend decent B size printer

We've got a supplier who's rather low-tech, but who is getting more up to speed (with email) so that we can share drawings with them better.  I'm thinking about getting them a decent B size printer so they don't have to run into the office every time they want to see smaller detail (on the screen), but I don't know how much I can get our management to invest.  Anybody seen recent-vintage B size ink jets?  I don't even know if the make 'em now.  They were getting scarcer even a few years back, and the hassle factor (with poor quality drivers) was pretty high.  Now everything seems to be laser.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Mr. Limey.  Would you say that you would actually recommend this printer, or is it just one that you found doing a search.

Appreciate the feedback, regardless.

RE: Recommend decent B size printer

I have not used this particular printer, but I recommend  HP printers in general over other makes. I have never had a problem with a HP printer, but have had many problems with others. I was gointg to recommend that my company replace my aging HP Deskjet 1000C, but then they upgraded the office photcopier to a networked version & it prints Tabloid size, so no need.

cheers

Thanks also to you, Jabberwocky.  If the management is willing to spring for a little more to support this supplier that model may be the way to go.

RE: Recommend decent B size printer

I have had a HP Deskjet 1220C printer for over 6 years, and it is still going strong.  I originally purchased it for Architectural A and B sizes back when I was working from home.  Colored line drawings are so-so as far as speed goes, but all black line drawings are fast.  It prints up to a 13 x 19, but the biggest I printed on was 11" x 17".  It is discontinued from HP, but you can find them for under $50 on EBay, just search for "deskjet 1220c".
