long & short pattern valves in B16.10

long & short pattern valves in B16.10

(OP)
I am wondering about the long & short pattern valve end to end dimensions in B16.10.  Is there a more common standard that is typically used for large bore valves?  The work in question is all new construction.  Do most manufacturers make both long and short types?  Any insight into this issue will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Mark

RE: long & short pattern valves in B16.10

Manufacturers participate in the standard development.  I believe that the long and short patterns reflect dimensions that existed before the standard was issued.
