Single vs Double head flow sensor

Single vs Double head flow sensor

(OP)
I'm looking at an ultrasonic flow meter for 10" HDPE forcemain and I was wondering if anyone knew what the advantages/disadvantages of a single head flow sensor would be.

RE: Single vs Double head flow sensor

i have used a single head sensor for gravity before but never a two headed one.  in my experience the single head works great in good pipe.  as soon as there is turbulance in the pipe though forget about it.  i don't know if the double headed would work any better but that is my two cents worth.

RE: Single vs Double head flow sensor

Is this a doppler flow meter?  Pipe is always full?
