Adding configurations to design tables

Adding configurations to design tables

Adding configurations to design tables

(OP)
I am wanting to add an existing configuration to a design table. (It existed in the DT before, but was deleted).  When I edit the DT, I am no longer prompted to include this configuration.

The only way to have taht dialog box show up is to save, close, reopend the file, then edit the DT.  Then I'm prompted to include the configuration in the DT.

Any way to quickly add the configuration?

RE: Adding configurations to design tables

Just type the config name in the next empty row of the DT and close the DT, leaving all values blank.  When you open the DT again those values will populate.

Actually, all the values don't populate back into the DT. (I have a number of custom properties).

When I type in the new configuration, as you suggested, and close the DT, the DT thinks all the custom properties don't have values.  When looking at the custom properties through "file: properties" menu, they are all gone.

RE: Adding configurations to design tables

Sorry, I wasn't thinking about Custom Props.  Empty cells for custom props will (obviously from your experience) be interpreted as zero-length strings when you exit the DT.  Dimensions will behave as I originally posted, but it looks like that doesn't help you much!  :-}

RE: Adding configurations to design tables

If you have more than one config, you could delete the DT & create a new one using the Auto-create function.
The DT should populate itself with existing properties & the differences between configs.

cheers
