surface molding 'soldify' zip gaps
surface molding 'soldify' zip gaps
(OP)
Hello,
If have agian a problem with surface molding,
i need to make a solid from a closed quilt.
But there are 2 surface with a very small gap in between.
How can i close this gap? For inport file there is a healing function is there also something like that for a pro/engineer file?
thanks for the helping answere's

RE: surface molding 'soldify' zip gaps
Can you give us more details? With surfacing it dikicult to give a generic answer. Do you have advanced surfacing capability?

lets first simplify the situation.
It is about a circle which must be closed by extending both sides. But after extending to a mid plane there is still a very same gap in the midle. To small to see but pro/engineer has problems with is it must be used for solidify.
I don't have advanced surfaching capability.

Sorry for my ignorance, but still not clear what you wabt to do. Can you link an image or the model?

The red line in the first images, is the place where the gap is.

You have two solutions:
1. Create 3 datum planes and a coordinate system.
2. Redefine the feature and choose Heal Geometry -> Manual -> Zip Gaps.
2. If Pro cannot do it, then you must construct the missing surface and do a merge with the existing one. Sometimes is ieasier to delete some surfaces and made new ones.
