Conveyor Belt Bridge Loading

(OP)
Does anyone has experience in the design of Conveyor Belt Bridge? It will be used to transport broken rocks from one side of a quarry to another location over a stream. Generating the design loading will be helpful. Thanks.

RE: Conveyor Belt Bridge Loading

I have an excellent book in my office library that deal exclusively with conveyor design. I will try to get the name and publisher posted tomorrow.

Lutfi

RE: Conveyor Belt Bridge Loading

In the US look into CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturer Association).  They will have all the information you need.

RE: Conveyor Belt Bridge Loading

Hint.  Amongst the other things, don't forget temperature expansion of the bridges and the resulting frictional loads way up there at the top of the towers.

RE: Conveyor Belt Bridge Loading

A few years back I worked on conveyor bridge for power station. They provided all loads like weight of parts, belt and material (depending on width of belt height of material will change). In addition they provided loads for tension of belt transferred to end supports, forces on pulleys for pulley frame design. Force for emergency stop was assumed as tension force times impact ratio of 2.

Talk to conveyor supplier. They will tell you exact numbers.

In additon to this use wind, seismic and snow load as well as load of maintenence people with parts and tools.

Good luck.
