Electric panel according to Factory Mutual (FM)

Electric panel according to Factory Mutual (FM)

(OP)
We have a project in asia for a fuel gas system. The complete electrical part shall be according to FM. What does this mean? Do we have to follow the NFPA 70 and NEC 500? Or is there anything else to be observed?

Thanks in advance.

Pete M.

RE: Electric panel according to Factory Mutual (FM)

The specification is calling for compliance with the Factory Mutual guidelines for a fuel gas system. FM Global has very detailed requirements to fuel gas systems. These requirements are more extensive than those found in NFPA 54 for fuel gas systems.

The standards you referenced are for hazardous location electrical systems. This is just one part of the total design package.

If you need the particular FM standard I cannot provide it. These documents are subject to US copyright laws. Please contact FM Global for specific assistance.

check with your customer, they should be able to provide you with the loss prevention data sheets.

Hope this helps.
