tolerance analysis

(OP)
hi all,
I am looking for books/theory/information on tolerance analysis for mechanical engineers which might be available online from where I can either download or just browse through.I will appreciate if anyone could help me out with this.

Thanks

RE: tolerance analysis

Dimensioning and Tolerancing Handbook by Paul J Drake Jr and published by McGraw-Hill has been published as an e-book.

I have seen it through the IMechE library services website a year or so back. The IMechE had an arrangement with Knovel for members to access to selected onlin texts.

I now have a hard copy as I found it to be well worth the space in the reference library. It has a good section on tolerance stack analysis and goes as far as looking at automated tolerance analysis.

If you are a member of any professional institution I would suggest you give their online library services a browse as the first try. Going direct to McGraw-Hill may be worth a try as some titles have sample chapters to view.

Regards
Colin

RE: tolerance analysis

If you put "tolerance analysis" into google you will have access to a plethora of information.

RE: tolerance analysis

I took a class through U of Milwaukee on Robust Tolerance Analysis that I felt was well worth the money.  If I recall correctly, much of the methodology used Design of Experiments techniques to assess the effects of multiple variables (tolerances) on assemblies.

RE: tolerance analysis

I have completed 3D tolerance analysis projects and worked with GD&T for over 15 years.  What detailed questions do you have?
