Hello, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the carbon equivalent of bohler k245 with this composition:- C .63, Si 1.10, Mn 1.10, Cr .6. I came up with 1.02% I'm not sure if thats right?, any help would be most appreciative.

thanks pressed, sorry for not getting back to you I work 7 days with long hours. That site is where I got my info from but it doesnt say the CE of it unless Ive overlooked it somewhere. I would just like for someone to figure out the CE from the values that I have given, thankyou.

RE: carbon equivalent of bohler k245

The CE using the IIW formula (w/o Si) is 0.93%, with the Si weight percent amount, the CE increases to 1.12%. Either way, any CE value above 0.6% requires preheat and post weld heat treatment to avoid cold cracking.
