Approximate year roll-bonded plate was commercially available
Approximate year roll-bonded plate was commercially available
(OP)
Does anyone know approximately what year roll-bonded plate (specifically CS/410 SS) was commercially available? The only information that I have is that ASTM A-263 was first published in 1943. Based solely on poor documentation we are trying to determine if a particular vessel constructed in 1948 was built with a roll bonded material.
Also I assume that explosion bonded materials were not available circa 1948.
Thanks.

Note; If this vessel is a pressure vessel and was constructed to the ASME B&PV Code, Section VIII, check for a nameplate or NB number. If you find a number contact the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. They would have the original data report for the MOC.

Thanks very much for your response. We believe that the link you provided has answered our question.
The vessel I have described is a large fractionating column and was built to the API/ASME Code. There is no evidence of National Board registration.
Again thanks for your help and the many contributions that you make to this forum.
