RE: water softerner information

Hehe, I'm just had the same problem.  This website has helped me out tremedously (sp?).

You will have to probably shock chlorinate you well also.  I have to to it about 4X per year to keep my water normal.

Lastly, (and most expensively) you can install inline filters if the above doesnt solve the problem to your satisfaction.

Good luck.

RE: water softerner information

First step is to start off with a water analysis as well as source of water (city, well, etc.)

Pull out the manual for the water softener and see how old it is. Resin usually last 7-10 years.

Cloudy water may be result of gas. Particles may be from well or something else.

RE: water softerner information

Don't mess with something you don't know about.  Contact a local water treatment professional to diagnose the problem and recommend the fix.

Don't try to learn how to treat water unless you have the training and experience of a water treatment professional.  It just won't fly.
