Trimmer for Plastic Tubes

Trimmer for Plastic Tubes

Trimmer for Plastic Tubes

(OP)
Hello All

I'm looking to cut the length of a hollow plastic tube (25.4mm OD) with wall thickness 50microns.

Any precise cutting/trimming equipments in the market??

Currently I tried with a rotating mandrel where you place the tube and trimming the tube edge by a stationary blades (both sides)

Thanks

Polymat

RE: Trimmer for Plastic Tubes

The mandrel system would have been my suggestion. Possibly laser cutting might also work, but 50 microns is very thin, and I guess it needs a mandrel for support even with a laser.

Regards

RE: Trimmer for Plastic Tubes

We deal with an outfit called ERASER. They make some neat off the shelf stuff and they will custom build if you need them to.

RE: Trimmer for Plastic Tubes

i don't know how long of piece you are trying to get but can you put an 1 in peice of plastic pipe in the tube then cut it , or is that what you fellas' mean by mandrel.
