Power Copy

Power Copy

Power Copy

(OP)
Hi,

I have some questions regarding power copy that I would like to get some help with!

1. Is it possible to reorder the "Inputs of components"? E.g. if I have one point and a line and I want the user to first select the line and then the point when inserting the power copy.

2. We have done lots of works in Catia V4 on things that we often uses in parts. E.g. for a coffe cup there are often a handle, the handle is created as a ditto.

Now I am redoing this work in V5 and are using power copys. The areas that should be possible to change for the user I have rebuilt but the areas (planes, surfaces etc.) that should not be changed I have simply convertet. They are dead/no history.
The problem occurs when I insert the power copy. If i for example select to position it againts a new axis system that I have created in the part it works for all the things I have rebuilt. The ends upp accoring to the selected axis system. But all the "dead" things ends up according to the first axis system...

It looks like I must recreate everything to make it work or does anyone of you know how to solve this problem?

Thanks!

RE: Power Copy

1.  Not that we've ever found.
2.  Look at using User Defined Features.  They work like PowerCopies, but they do not leave editable geometry in your model.  The PKT License will let you create and use them, but a KT1 License can be used to instanciate them.
