Part missing from assy draft

Part missing from assy draft

Part missing from assy draft

(OP)
I've created a draft of an assy. One part does not show up in the views when created. I've recreated the draft for the second time. The part im refering to is not suppressed or hidden in the draft or assy, the edges have not been hidden in the draft. In the assembly the part is visible in the edgebar. When in the draft I right click>properties. Under the display tab the part that is missing from the view is also missing from the listed parts. But as I said it is listed in the Tree in the edgebar of the Assy. I don’t understand why this part is not being shown in the draft. Unless I can figure this out I fear I may have to remodel the part. And if worse comes to worse..recreate the assy.

I just found "occurrence properties? The box "display in drawings and drafts parts list" is Unchecked. But I'm unable to check it in the assy mode. How can I cange this property?

I'm probably making this more difficult than it is. Thx for the help.

RE: Part missing from assy draft

Adam,

if it's unchecked it will not show. AFAIK prior to V18 this can be changed
via the occurrence props only within the context of the assemmbly this part
is in. So  think in your case you have to edit the assy and you sould then be
able to checkmark the box

In V18 it's direct accessible even when in a subassy

Dy,
I came to find your solution the case. BUT when I bring up the occurrence properties for that particular part, all options are grey'd out, and the "display in drawings and drafts parts list" is unchecked. But for some strange reasons all other parts in my assy seem to have this box check, but they are also grey'd out. I think I'll recreat the part, see if anything changes. I was hesitant to do this because pretty much all the parts in my assy are in someway constrained to this part.
I still need to find out why I'm unable to change the occurrence probperties for any of these parts.
Thank!

RE: Part missing from assy draft

Adam,

hmm, I'm rather cueless at the mo 'cause I never faced such
a situation. hen the occurrence props are greyed out OK,
then I'm not in a subasm for that part but when in that
subasm *and* still unable to modify the checkboxes ???
I think that's the real problem: why are they not accessible
at all.

RE: Part missing from assy draft

Have you tried running geometry inspector on the part??

RE: Part missing from assy draft

Hi again.

I was able to access the occurrence props. For info: I had "members" created to show different positions in the assy. There's a box to check in under the Alt. Assy's tab in the Edgebar called "Apply edits to all members" this had to be checked before accessing the occurrence props. So this worked out. I did check the proper boxes, BUT still cant get this part to show up in the draft views. I updated the views, created new views and even a new draft. Still no luck, showing it in the draft views…any more advice. I'll keep trouble shooting.

Thanks!

PS, the geo inspector didn't find any issues.

I figured it out. I had to activate the part in the assy and update the draft views. Now it shows up in the draft…thanks for all the help.
