Hello All

I am trying to find an alternative steel specification to replace the french 30NCD16 called up on a drawing. Do any of you know of any? The part to manuafactured from the material is a small collar.

Many thanks!

RE: 30 NCD 16 Alternative Spec

You have not provided nearly enough information for anyone to provide a meaningful answer.  What is the size of the part?  What are the requirements for final mechanical properties?  What is the potential failure mode (wear, fatigue, corrosion, fracture, etc.)?  Why do you need a different grade?  Is it due to lack of availability in North America?

RE: 30 NCD 16 Alternative Spec

This is a Ni, Cr, Mo steel with 0.25-0.35C.
What product form and properties are you after?  There are a lot of similar grades.
