Earth Switch Electrical Interlock (Remote)

Earth Switch Electrical Interlock (Remote)

Earth Switch Electrical Interlock (Remote)

(OP)
I have a case of two 11kV switchgears (F1 and F2) and each of them is located in separate substations. One switchgear (F1) is feeding the other switchgear (F2). Both upstream (F1) and downstream (F2) circuit breakers are provided with earthing switches at the cable termination to ground the cables during maintenance. Since the two substations are remote to each other (5kM), we have employed electrical interlocks to avoid closing the either earth switches if either breakers are ON and block closing either circuit breakers (F1 or F2) if any of the earthing switches are closed. By switchgear standard, the circuit breakers are already having interlock with their asscociated cable earthing switches (local).

The case: The upstream circuit breaker should be electrically interlocked with the downstream (F2) earth switch and the downstream circuit breaker should be electrically interlocked with the upstream (F1) earth switch. Is it possible to provide a blocking solenoid or any other means to block close this earthing switch remotely (in this case through an auxiliary contact from the remote circuit breaker)?

If this is not being done as a standard, is there any other means to provide the required electrical interlock as described above?
