Hi

I'm trying to find out, how to export BOMs from my assemblys into a XML file or Database

RE: Export BOMs from SE v18 to XML or SQL

For starters, have you mastered exporting one as text using the report function?

Hi Kenat,

I've made a few, but none of them I can use. It has to be a automatic, because I whant the data it into Axapta. We can do that in if it is a xml-file or a database.

RE: Export BOMs from SE v18 to XML or SQL

I'm affraid I don't know xml so can't take you any further.

My thought process was that you could get the data out in a suitable txt format and somehow convert it to XML.

For instance for our ERP system I create the txt BOM & then put it into Excel, do a little formatting and then it can go into the ERP system.  Don't know if you could replicate this functionality with XML.

There is quite a bit of formatting you can do with the BOM report.

If you have a support contract with solid edge I'd suggest posting this query on one of the newsgroups there.  As you probably know judging from your question SE customisation using XML is something they seem to be stressing with the newer releases.

RE: Export BOMs from SE v18 to XML or SQL

Hi,

as Kenat pointed out: there is now direct export in xml format
nor direct feed into a database. The only option is a .txt
file.
