Task durations not adding correctly

Task durations not adding correctly

Task durations not adding correctly

(OP)
Hi, I have a MS project file in which some tasks are under the standard 8hr/day calendar in which task duration is given in weeks and some are under a 24hr schedule in which task duration is given in hours. I changed the calendar of the various tasks under the "Task Information - Advanced" tab.

All tasks under the 24hr work schedule are rolled under a main task so that I can capture the overall length of the shutdown, which I want displayed in days. The total of my subtasks is 8 days, but the main task is displaying 20 days, even though the calculated start and end dates of the main task are 8 days apart. I think this is due to the fact that default time under "change working time - options" is 8 hours/day meaning that 24 hrs worked = 3 days, but if I change this it affects the entire project and not just the specific task. How can I get this to add up correctly? Thanks,

Marc
