Notes in model view

(OP)
I'm trying to make notes to a part and I'm using the note function but when I finish typing my note and end the note it just disappears. How can I keep this note visible so I can make a pdf file and send it to my customer?

Thanks

RE: Notes in model view

Right-click the Annotations at the top of your feature tree and select Show Annotations.  They should show up.

I normally have Show Feature Dimensions unchecked and Show Reference Dimensions checked.

I tried as you suggested and still not able to place notes in the the model view without them disappearing. I set the same options that you suggest.

RE: Notes in model view

Do you have Enable Annotation View Visibility checked in the same area (right-click on Annotations)?  If so, uncheck it and see what you get when you try to create a note.  If you don't use the Annotation Views feature, you may also want to uncheck the Automatically Place into Annotation Views option.

Not sure if that's what you're set to, but I would think this is your problem.  (Either that, or you're having some graphics-related glitches.)

I tried just creating a block and trying the same thing and it works fine. The file I'm working with is a Solidworks file and was supplied by the customer. I've been looking for a setting that may be different between the block file and the one supplied but don't see anything different to speak of. Any other idea's, when I create the note and type in my information then click the screen my note floats for placement with my cursor, when I click again it allows me to edit the information, click again and it's floating again. Accept the note by clicking on the green arrow and the note disapears.

strangely enough if I save the part out into a new file everything works. for the short term I guess this will do, would be nice to know why it does not work in the other file though.
