*HELP. Need Help to Stop Electrofin Coated Coil from Dripping Water*

*HELP. Need Help to Stop Electrofin Coated Coil from Dripping Water*

(OP)
We have used the electrofin coated evaporator coils w/o any problems to date until now.
One of our units is in a high humidity environment and the coil is approx. 15-30deg off vertical.  It has an Electrofin (polymer) coating. Water is dripping off the coil and creating puddles. The unit is Uplfow and the air velocity across the coil is on par.
Has anyone any suggestions for coating the Electrofin to increase its hydrophilic properties (water attracting), so that the water can run down to the drain pan as it is supposed to???
Thanks!

First and easiest cut is to clean it to remove any traces of oil or similar film.

Although it could be, we doubt that is the problem.  Another approach is to use a Zince based primer (ZCR) for instance.  But we do not know how well it will adhere to the electrofin coating...

I agree with Mint Julip to clean it first.
Any type of coating will certainly reduce the effectiveness of the coil. Electrofin prides itself in the fact that it's coating is only 1 mill and it has flexibility.
