Mesh rigid boby or assign the materials property?

(OP)
Hi, I want to model a contact problem. Should I mesh the rigid body and assign the materials property?

RE: Mesh rigid boby or assign the materials property?

You definitely must mesh the rigid body, but I am not sure about the material property. I think you ought to assign that as well.

RE: Mesh rigid boby or assign the materials property?

You only mesh a rigid body if it's not an anlytical surface. A rigid body doesn't have material properties or else it wouldn't be rigid. You do have to assign a reference pont to the body though.
