How can I insert part dimention into drawing?

RE: inserting part dimention into drawing

Your first port of call should be the Online Tutorial found in the Help dropdown. Working through those will give you a good grounding in the basics of SW.

But to answer your question;

1) You can use Insert > Model Items and select the options you need from there.

2) Under Tools > Options > System Options > Drawings select Automatically place dimensions inserted from model and under {b[Tools > Options > Document Properties > Detailing[/b], in the Auto insert on view creation section, select Dimensions marked for drawing. This will automatically insert & place dimensions on the views as they are created on the drawing sheet.

3) Select the Smart Dimension icon under the Dimensions/Relations toolbar, then in the drawing, select the model element or vertices you want to dimension.

RE: inserting part dimention into drawing

CBL, which version of SW are you using?  I cannot find "select Dimensions marked for drawing".

SW05 ... but remember you need to have a drawing open to access that section of the options.

It may have changed for SW06, but I haven't had chance to load it yet.
