Setting counterbore depths

Setting counterbore depths

Setting counterbore depths

(OP)
I'm trying to see if I can get our die designers to come up with a way of displaying the counterbore depth of socket head cap srews, by inserting some sort of logo or symbol that can be read from a plan view drawing. This is to be used in the die shop.
At the moment, when a set of drawings comes out on the shop floor, the person doing the drilling has to find a view that shows the counterbore depth, or go and look it up on Visview and write it on the drawing. As you can imagine, this is both frustrating and time consuming.
The designers have only a certain number of hours to complete the design, so any extra steps are frowned upon. I've talked to the senior designer and he wasn't able to give me any answers.
I envisage some kind of library object that can be "dropped" into position at the proper depth to give 1-1/2 diameter of thread engagment, and have a symbol that can be viewed from the plan view.
This seems to me that it would also speed up their workflow, instead of having to extrude every bolt (I believe they use the "hole command") I'm not a UG user, although I some knowledge of it.

I hope I've made it clear and not confused everyone.

RE: Setting counterbore depths

use the Countbore and depth symbols in the annotation editor :)

as an example (see the snapshot I took below). I may have something backwards as GD&T isnt exactly one of my strong points (more of a modeler than a drafter).

Yes, that's what I was looking for as regards notation. Now is there a way to combine that with the creation of the bolthole? I'm looking for a one step proccess, you want a bolt here, click on the position, determine the bolt length, click again and it's done.
Maybe a series of macros, one for each bolt size and varying counterbore depths.
