A polymer/material suggestion... similar to asphalt/bitumen?

A polymer/material suggestion... similar to asphalt/bitumen?

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I am trying to find a material with the following qualities... I am hoping someone could offer a suggestion. Thanks in advance!

1) Similar to Asphalt in material properties (elasticity, tackiness), or maybe more elastic and less crack-prone in a solid state.
2) Hopefully less viscous than asphalt in molten state.
3) Something that is more "controlled" than asphalt - something with a more defined and controllable chemical content.
4) The cheaper the better.

Thanks!

Or maybe: Are there any additives that can impart these properties to asphalt?

tffy,

You have posted the same posting 3 times.

You may wish to consider one posting, and have links to the one posting in other fora?

That way, all the response will be in one location, making it easier for everyone to follow the thread.

Yes, this is quite a broad question. Sorry, I did think I may be committing a faux pas. I shall change the other two threads to link to this one. Thanks!

A variety of "elastomeric" products fit your criteria, as best as I can understand them...
