Customization help required for GIS file

(OP)

I have some problem realtd to water transmission and distrubution system. We have coverage that of TIN converted and polygons r of triangle shape having node to whom data is attached reagarding elevation. In the centre of Polgon we have label whose elevation we have to calculte using interpolation method so that both the elevation of corner nodes and label at centre are compared and anlaysis can b done further.
Now problem is time is consuming in calculating elevation of centre label of polgon manullay by interpolation method.

Can we automate the calculation using AML or using avenue? if yes?how

please help me .

RE: Customization help required for GIS file

I would think a little lisp routine could automate the process for you.  You could click on a polygon, and the routine would read the elevations of the 3 corners, average them, and then write that info to a label.  What I didn't understand from your post was how you are labelling it, if it is a node with an attribute, if you wanted to comapare the average elevation to the label or overwrite it, etc.  You could email me at cab@eeiteam.com if you are still interested.  Attaching a small drawing file would help.

Carl

Hi,

I agree with CarlB. I am not familiar with your software but the one I use called Mapcad has such a routine although it usually extracts the theoritical height "manually" after clicking each new point.

If your LISP routine does it quickly I would be interested too?

Thanks,
