Have any of you guys any experience with the floworks plugin? My company is in the process of considering solutions for FEM analysis of the flow in some cooling rigs , and I am wondering if its the right product for us. The situation at the moment is that one of our customers are demanding that the system shall be verified for presure drop and air pockets forming + + + , And they require that this shall be done by software that can display the results in a comprehensible manner.  I think they want a full 3D "image" with the fluid volume color coded. Is it a viable option to do this for the whole system in "one go"? The system contains approximately 100 metres of 2" pipes, and somewhere in the area of 20 components like Heat exchangers, valves, pressure vessels and pumps, plus elbows and reducers scatterd around...

All input appreciated !

Best regards, Bernt Ødegård

RE: Floworks Usage /

Your VAR should be able to arrange a demo for you. Some of the better ones have dedicated FEA people who would be able to run the simulation. Though, you may have to pay a fee for their time to set up the models correctly.

A previous company I worked for did just that & decided not to purchase based on what they saw. Unfortunately I was not directly involved, so was not privy to the results or the reasoning for non-purchase.

cheers

thx, just talked to them, and they tell me its no problem, but then again, its the same people selling the stuff, so... hehe...
Gonna try and download the trial version, but I suspect its got some limitations so that I cant get the full simulation to run properly, time will show.

Thx for the tip on getting them do make a demo. Will try to make them do that smile
