Can anybody recommend a decent beam analysis software?
Thanks.

RE: Beam Analysis Software

www.masterseries.co.uk produce very user friendly software that suits all my structural needs

RE: Beam Analysis Software

Depends on what you need:  for simple continuous beams, a spreadsheet program by Yakov Polyakov linked to in the Engineering Spreadsheet forum is great.  For something more involved check thread 507-157098.

RE: Beam Analysis Software

Dr. Frame is really good: www.drsoftware.com. Mr. Polyakov's spreasheet is excellent as jeg mentioned above.

RE: Beam Analysis Software

For wood and Steel - BeamChek  - www.beamchek.com.  Probably the easiest to use but steel beams must be braced at Lc

For pure steel with multiple spans and loading conditons and bracing - try "Beams" by Archon Engineering www.archoneng.com

Both are inexpensive and easy to use...

RE: Beam Analysis Software

There may be something of interest here.. thread507-145509

RE: Beam Analysis Software

You might want to check out www.buildabout.com.  There are some spreadsheets you might be able to download for free.
