Gas Test
Gas Test
(OP)
Generally, using the same choke size. How should flow up casing differ from flow up tubing? I would think up the tubing could lift more fluid and clean up the wellbore and evenutally flow at a higher rate due to less fluid cloumn pressure. Is there any rule of thumbs?
Thanks,
Thanks,

RE: Gas Test
Typically, the annulur area is significantly larger than the flow area of the tubing so you would expect to see more flow (for the same bottom-hole pressure and choke size) up the backside than up the tubing due to lower friction drop in the larger area up the backside.
The unloading issues with velocity strings are much more a long-term issue than a well-test issue. Again, this is a really complex ananlysis that is not done by "rule of thumb" you have to know your reservoir and your design goals for a specific well.
