newbie design table question

newbie design table question

newbie design table question

(OP)
I am using a design table to change the parameters of a sketch--right now it only has 4 constraints with 2 configurations.  I am able to change to the the second configuration without a problem but when I revert back to the original configuration the sketch does not return to the original shape.

RE: newbie design table question

pedro - how are you reverting back to the original.  Does the design table appear when you double pick a driving parameter?

I am double clicking on the design table in the spec tree and choosing the configuration row from the list of configurations and hitting the "apply" button.

RE: newbie design table question

Maybe you broke your constraints, by violating a geometric rule.  That is, you may have entered numbers (or changed the numbers in the design table) in such a way that they alter the geometry in  a way that can't be resolved.

An overly simplistic example of this, would be a radius value based on an offset.  If the offset value of the radius causes it to be smaller than 0, your sketch will not resolve, and thus will be broken.  It may very well be that this is your case, also.

Do you get an error?

Thanks for the help.

I checked the constraints and I wasn't breaking any nor was i getting an error message, but I changed the way my constraints were set up--instead of setting the constraints to my line lengths I set the constraints to the distance between parallel lines and everything works fine.

Thanks agian.
