HY8 Won't Run

HY8 Won't Run

(OP)
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out why this program won't work for me? After entering the information into HY8 InpGen and clicking on Save/Calculate, I get an error message:

"Path not found in module BALANCE at address 0946:2CEF"

I've tried redownloading the program, and that hasn't solved the problem.

Thank you

RE: HY8 Won't Run

I cant remember if that was my exact probelm, but I had to move hy HY8 v6.1 to my root directory to get it to work properly.

RE: HY8 Won't Run

make sure you use 8 characters or less for the directory

RE: HY8 Won't Run

I've been at this job for 1.5 years, and have just (out of curiousity) tried the HY8 here, or any DOS based program.

I got "Path not found in line 380 of module CULVERT at address 1D2B:76D3".  I don't have Admin permissions to move it to C.  My personal folder on C has more than 8 characters.  I don't have Admin permissions to rename it.

Oh well, I guess no DOS stuff for me.

Thanks for your responses,

The directory it was in was in C:\WMS71\HY8. I moved it to C:\HY8, and that didn't solve anything. Do all the file names have to be under 8 as well? I'm running HY8InpGen.exe, but that's how it came named, so I don't think thats the issue.

RE: HY8 Won't Run

I have HY8v6 in its own directory on C:\.  I have a DOS shortcut witht the PROGRAM tab configured to define the specific path to the command line and the working directory (C:\HY8V6\). And to close the window upon exit.

It has been a while since I set it up, but I also recall needing to run the SETUP program first.
