MILSPECS

MILSPECS

MILSPECS

(OP)
Does anyone know if Milspecs are available anywhere on the web, eg MIL-STD-2219 on welding? There used to be a site called specs-on-web.com, but they disappeared recently.

RE: MILSPECS

Here is the official site.  You need to use the Quick Assist option.  Since you have the mil-spec number
only insert that (e.g. MIL-W-22759, use 22759).  This is a free site, however, I just found out that they are quickly converting all MIL-SPECS over to SAE documents.

RE: MILSPECS

Not just SAE documents, but all commercial type documents in order to reduce cost in maintaining standards.  You'll see lots of MIL specs start to reference SAE, ANSI, ASME, and other specs.

RE: MILSPECS

finding specs is a crap shoot.  searching using the assist engine, you can find most mil specs, but a soft copy is not always available.  i've encountered a worse problem with asme, ansi, and sae specs, they want piles of money for a copy, soft or hard.

RE: MILSPECS

Since we're on this thread, anybody seen copies for sale of old specs from the 40's and early 50's?  - eg: ANC-5 prior to 1955, AN-A-10, older QQ-series, etc.  Also old (1950's) structural design manuals (Lockheed, Convair, etc.)
