Photoworks slow loading

Photoworks slow loading

(OP)
Hi all

havinf recently upgraded to Solidworks 2006 at sp4.1 i notice all my files take an age to load. This appears to be due to photoworks information loading after the models have loaded. I tried switching off photoworks and this does speed things up, also i tried switching the add on back on while in an assembly, file size 24MB, and the computer took nearly 5 minutes to free up. Does anybody else experience this and do you have any suggestions as to the cause.

Many Thanks

Regards

RE: Photoworks slow loading

I have seen the same thing here on SP 4.0.  The previous versions of 2006 seemed to be fine so somehting must have changed with SP 4.0 in regards to PW.  Unfortunately I don't have a way around it at the moment.  Maybe the next SP or 2007 will solve the issue?

RE: Photoworks slow loading

I recently left a company that had the same problem. We had to keep photoworks turned off of any project unless you were specifically needing it. And those times we were rendering, well it was always accompanied with lots of swearing due to load times.

We never did find a solution. My present company doesnt render so I cant help other than to confirm that it isnt just your pc and is common.
