Dosing pump / Increase suction hose diameter

Dosing pump / Increase suction hose diameter

Dosing pump / Increase suction hose diameter

(OP)
Hello,

I'm currently working on the development of a Dosing pump (stepper motor and membrane).
My question is: what is the impact on the performance if I use a inner Ø8mm instead of Ø6mm on the suction and on the return line (line returning to the tank for priming)?
I think the priming will be slower due to a larger air volume in the suction hose but do you see anything else?

Thank you for your help.

RE: Dosing pump / Increase suction hose diameter

For the same volume there will be less friction as the velocity will be less.
