RE: Motor size?

Ouch.  Tell us more. Better yet post a picture, with some sort of scaling on it like a can of beer or a yard stick or a dollar bill. FAQ238-1161

If it is running happily in an application just measure the current, make a power factor estimate and do the math.

If it is sitting on the ground in front of you... You will have a much bigger problem.

What have you got?

Actually there is a method,it has to do with measuring the shaft size.the bits and pieces are ones that iam after.

RE: Motor size?

Not really. You could measure and make an educated guess, but it would not tell you the limits from a protection standpoint. Still, if you UNDERestimate it, the risk becomes mainly nuisance tripping.

RE: Motor size?

miltonzv,

If the unit is built to standard. Shaft measurement will do, mounting dimension you'll then find the FRAME # but it's just an approximation.
Better to run the machine and test it as itsmoked said.
