CENTER OF GRAVITY
CENTER OF GRAVITY
(OP)
I am a relatively new user to IV 10. I am attempting to find COG of my assembly. The problem is that I have a COG value but it doesn't mean much because my assembly does not start at the origin. Is there a way to move my assembly so that one "corner" is on vertices of the three planes? Or any other workaround that a fairly new user could pull off?
Thanks,
Raymond

RE: CENTER OF GRAVITY
Constraints is what you're looking for. Constrain one of your parts to the origin plane. Then you will have meaningful numbers from the origin to the COG. If you're really new to IV and 3D, try some of the tutorials that come with the software. Go to help>tutorials and check out the Creating Assemblies tutorial. Of course, you will have to have all your parts constrained to each other/origin planes as well.
