Geocomposite Drain

Geocomposite Drain

(OP)
Can someone point me to a manufacturer's website for geocomposite drains? The funtion for the type I will have going in on a project will be to reduce the amount of liquefaction settlement, some type of perforated tube vibrated into the ground? Any advice on using these versus using piles or stone columns?

RE: Geocomposite Drain

The mandatory preface: you need to talk to a geotechnical engineer.

There's a lot of information out there on this subject, and a few products that work well.  Each has its application (see preface).

For some good overall information see Steve Kramer's liquefaction site:
http://www.ce.washington.edu/~liquefaction/html/how/soilimprovement.html

((The above site is also about the best overview of liquefation))

There is also an ASCE GSP on this subject.
