Import

Import

(OP)
Hi,

I created an assembly in UG, along with some text.  I need to export the file into a 'stp' and 'iges' to send to customer who uses Pro-E.  I have no probllem creating 'stp' or 'iges' file.  However, when opening in Pro-E, the text is not showing up on the model.

How do I import a 'stp' or 'iges' in Pro-E?

Thanks

Jason

RE: Import

The problem in this case is UG or rather the STEP and IGES translators.
Is the text in a drawing? STEP will only output the model, not drawing data. IGES can get drawing data but it is not an easy option to find and set. If you have 3D text or model annotations, like ASME Y14.41, I am not sure the translators have implemented that yet.

UG will need to put all of the compnents into the STEP file, so be sure to set it properly to gather all of the components.

Your best option is to send the model as a STEP file and the draing as a DXF file.
